Arriving back into Hong Kong and getting prepped for 21-days of quarantine? Here are the best Hong Kong hotels to book
A year into the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re more than used to what has now become known as “the new normal”. Zoom catch-ups, working from home, daily mask wearing and social distancing restrictions have become second nature, with life as we know it dramatically different for many compared to twelve months ago. And it’s no secret that an aspect of life that has been vastly affected is travel. With global travel still largely off the cards, we’ve said goodbye to weekend getaways and long-haul trips, with Hong Kong staycations and exploring locally proving popular instead.
Although leisure travel is still not advised––with many countries still in lockdown and restrictions in place––if you do have to travel, it’s best to be prepared and now exactly what to expect. Since early 2020, the Hong Kong government enforced a 14-day quarantine period for all arrivals to the city, with this being increased to a mandatory 21-days from December. With the current restrictions looking to stay in place for the time being, we’re letting you know the Hong Kong hotels that will make your return to the city as comfortable as possible. Although you won’t be able to make the most of hotel facilities outside of your room, with three-weeks stuck in a hotel looming ahead, these luxe offerings are the next best thing to being home.
Editor’s note: The list current list of designated Hong Kong hotels for quarantine is confirmed until February 19, 2021, but is subject to change. For updates, please see the official list here.
